A NOTE ABOUT THE BRAMPTON EAST POLL

I noticed an unusual voting pattern in one of the polls on BramptonEast.com.

Within roughly an hour, 72 votes came in for one candidate from different IP addresses. The votes arrived at an unusual time of day, while voting activity elsewhere was spread out more naturally over time.

Different IP addresses don’t automatically mean different people, and an unusual pattern doesn’t prove manipulation. But when a large number of votes for one candidate arrive in such a concentrated burst, I think it’s reasonable to review them.

I’ve removed those votes from the informal poll to keep the results as credible as possible. These polls are for entertainment and community interest, not scientific surveys or official election results.

The real poll takes place on October 26. Make sure you have a plan to cast your vote in Brampton’s municipal election.

BramptonEast.com will continue to host informal polls about our community after the election, too.
